The interventional radiology department at our institution is a medical sub-speciality of radiology focusing on minimally invasive, image-guided organ systems. Most interventional radiology treatments are alternatives to open laparoscopic surgery. Our patients range from infants to the elderly facing issues like vascular, and non-vascular atherectomy, thrombosis, embolisation and renal cerebral embolisation / coiling.
The department now performs keyhole surgeries for those patients in whom open surgery or other treatment is not feasible. The procedures are like cardiac angioplasty involving all parts of the body.
