Brief Profile

Dr. Shruti Kochar Maru is currently working as a consultant Ophthalmic surgeon, Head of the Department and Director at CARE CHL Hospitals, Indore. She serves as a specialist consultant to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore. She completed her M.S. Ophthalmology at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur and then finished D.N.B Ophthalmology. She has finished her super-speciality training in LASIK, Cataract, and Neuro-ophthalmology from Narayana Nethralaya Bangalore and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She received a fellowship from the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO).

She was awarded membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh MRCSEd (Ophth) in 2019. She has received awards for original research on various national and international platforms (DNS Choudhary Award 2016, Shiv Prasad Hardia Award 2017, Best paper award at ASCRS Washington DC 2018, AIOS International hero Award 2019, Best Video at Film Festival 2019).

Dr. Maru has cleared the NABH assessor course and is empanelled as an assessor by NABH. She has delivered faculty talks at various conferences. She has published her research work in various international journals and written book chapters for post-graduate Ophthalmology. She recently received two prestigious awards in Kyoto, Japan for best paper and best poster. He is the only ophthalmologist from Madhya Pradesh to win international awards for three consecutive years in a row.
