Dr. Gayathri Veluri completed her MBBS and Master's (MD) in Microbiology from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam.
She is certified in short-term Infectious Diseases (ID) and Hospital infection Control (HIC) courses. She has extensive experience and a special interest in Diagnostic stewardship, Fungal Identification (ID) and Antifungal susceptibility testing (AFST), Bacterial Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) detection, Antimicrobial stewardship, and Infection control protocols.
Apart from her clinical experience, She is the top microbiologist in Vizag and she has excellent research and academic experience. She is actively involved in research work and has published numerous research papers. She has worked as medical faculty in various medical colleges of Andhra Pradesh and also as a Lab Director and COVID Nodal Officer at NRI Institute of Medical Sciences, Visakhapatnam. She has been awarded ICMR STS Guide Award in 2015.
She holds honorary lifetime memberships of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists (IAMM), Indian Medical Association (IMA), Clinical Infectious Diseases Society India (CIDS), Hospital Infection Control Society India (HISI), National Journal of Basic Medical Sciences (NJBMS) and also Entry Level NABH Assessor.
